Can cinematic space be used to re-edit already existing content?
I took my graduation film, Continuüm, as the content to start projecting on various walls. Different kinds of scenes were projected next to or on top of each other.
I was actually surprised that it was not the initial intention of the film that became more visible, which was to show the patterns and the structure of the family, but it was the characters’ inner worlds that became visible.
Their fears and thoughts became more present. In a spatial way, I was refocussing the points of view of the characters in the film. Also, my point of view as the maker shifted: from hanging in the overview position and wanting to show the patterns of a family, to the desire for empathy with a character.
